Michael Lee is Managing Director and Founder of Quality Deployment. He has over twenty years of experience helping Fortune 500 companies and government agencies improve operational effectiveness through the strategic use of technology.
As an astute industry observer and participant, Michael has a great ability to listen to IT executives and help them work through their challenges and develop solutions that work. He has assembled a leadership team of accomplished executives in the areas of Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Computing, Service Oriented Architecture and technologies like Oracle Fusion Middleware, Tibco and IBM Websphere.
Michael began focusing on operational improvement in the 1980s, as a pioneer in the area of Demand Management. He led the development and implementation of MSA's Distribution and Sales Forecasting products while achieving his APICS certifications. He then led major business performance improvement and activity-based costing projects for Ernst and Young.
In 1993, Michael joined Andersen Consulting to direct the development of a new technology platform for the manufacturing industry. The goal: leverage emerging technologies to quickly configure and deploy business processes. Michael authored Andersen’s methodology for business modeling and technology deployment in object-oriented environments. He was then asked to lead development of the firm-wide Business Architecture methodology, deployed to more than 30,000 consultants worldwide.
Michael was promoted to Associate Partner within 3 years of joining Accenture and maintained client delivery and practice leadership responsibilities for 10 years. His unique skills as a technical architect and process expert were highly valued by clients such as International Paper, The Walt Disney Company, and Duke Energy.
From these experiences, Michael began to observe that teams with industry depth, technology breadth and implementation experience were delivering far superior solutions and client satisfaction. Following the dot-com implosion, Michael watched as technology consultants and industry analysts began pushing unproven technologies with little hope of delivering business value. At the time, he published several articles and whitepapers espousing pragmatic technology choices whose cost and risk profile matched the business need.
Michael continued his consulting career at EDS, where he spent two successful years in practice leadership and business development. During this time, Michael began to formulate the basis of a new consulting model that became the foundation for Quality Deployment’s unique approach. In only a few years, Quality Deployment has served some of the world's leading companies on three continents. Today, the company is focused by industry and has a track record of exceptional client satisfaction in large and complex environments. |
